BB&T is a bank holding company, fused in North Carolina and headquartered in Charlotte. It changed its name in December 2019 upon the obtaining of SunTrust Banks into Truist Financial Corp. It is the biggest bank in the United States by all assets. BB&T Insurance Services was one of the biggest insurance broker representatives in the world. The company obtained Swett and Crawford, a wholesale insurance broker. The bank converged with Southern National Bank, another bank with roots in the eastern part of the state.
